There are a lot of little facets to the story, but the kid seems for real for the most part.

She may very well be toast come the next competition. I'm sure she'll finish out this one though as if nothing was wrong.

And, it's just as well you missed the special, they spent a good 20 minutes of it just showing the kid singing in the studio. I kept thinking "Yeah, we GET it, the kid sings, now move on with it already"
