X number of credit cards = X # of trial opportunities?
this sounds dumb
but if i was to offer a free 3-5 day trial to a site, can a user technically use X amount of credit cards to max the trial then quit each time? Also, how long would it take the credit card to be flagged again as "suspicious" can the credit card processor do anything to verify the info and to make sure he isnt a leech? |

not sure about other processors, but paycom will block a card after 4 cancelled trials to stop those cheap bastards. I'm sure other merchants may have similar fraud detection practises in place that may deny multiple signups by the same name and/or email address if they are already in the DB etc...
I don't think it's anything to worry about really. Just make sure your trial amount is worth more than the monthly price. For example, a $5, 1 day trial = 5x30 = $150/month worth |
