What the hell is this?
I check my awstats and notice people are browsing through this site...
http://coralcdn.org/ what the hell is that? |
Yeah it's those fucking dutch hotlinkers
|
Coral is peer-to-peer content distribution network, comprised of a world-wide network of web proxies and nameservers. It allows a user to run a web site that offers high performance and meets huge demand, all for the price of a $50/month cable modem.
Think that explains it. |
i don't get it though?
|
sounds like an NYU peer to peer project.

Basically a ton of people run a small webserver software on their computer. When someone goes to access your site via the nyud.net:8090 link it caches that page on indidividual's webservers and then next time recalls them from the peer-to-peer servers instead of hitting the original domain each time.
So you could advertise your site as domain.nyud.net:8090 and people would get to your site without using your bandwidth each time. That's the way i understand it anyway. Interesting concept. |
