Cheerleader Bill Passes House
Cheerleaders are used to getting attention but nothing like the attention they'll get if the Senate follows the House's lead on a bill that would outlaw any move considered to be sexually suggestive or provocative. "The bill would require ultimately that we stop exploiting our young girls," bill sponsor Rep. Al Edwards, D-Houston. |

Steve is currently on a plan enroute to Montreal for the show.
Clearly someone wasn't able to get with a cheerleader when they had the chance and now they are getting revenage. Kind of like "revenage of the nerds". This will never pass. Besides the fact that Cheerleading is as American as fucking apple pie, imagine the backlash it would have across high schools and colleges across the country. Doesn't our government have something better to do with it's time? (Note - I was a male cheerleader in high school!) |
A plan?

I am in Texas, and it will pass. NUTS.

This is the logic as I see it: Texas = HS Football HS Football = Cheerleaders No cheerleaders, no football, no texas. I'd be surprised if it passed. |

Dance has already been case proven to be a form of freedom of speech. Any attempts to circumvent it will eventually get squashed rather quickly. |

"Some of this is a distraction and we see that as a result more of our young girls being pregnant in middle and high schools, dropping out of school, having babies, and contracting AIDS and herpes," Edwards said.

I have mixed emotions about this --- do i like to watch college and pro cheerleaders? hell yeah! do I think its good that jr high and high school girls are emulating their most provacative moves? no
If it was up to me? There would be a nudity required and $5 lapdances for college and pro cheerleaders. But I perfer the girls to be 18+ before I use and degrade them! I wouldn't want to see an underage girl pretending to take it up the ass for a jr high competition, who would? wtf Its all about the age of the girls. I think common sense should apply. I think 18+ cheerleaders are nothing short of non-nude strippers. However schools have made cheerleading into a sport, and it should remain a sport in that setting, not a peep show.
