Guitarists, can you please listen to this song
And tell which effect is used for the guitar (solo) starting at 1:50.
Ive heard it before used by the Smashing Pumpkins and i think its also the same effect used for Mojo Pin by Jeff Buckley. Download |

YARGH! Sounds like a backwards volume pedal. I should mention I am a Drummer not a guitar player. :)

it sounds like a chorus with a delay sounds like its been recorded backwards but you can kind of simulate that effect with a volume pedal or the volume on the guitar because of the delay and make it swell (not swell as in nice - swell like an ocean wave)

that's a neat effect. i've never heard of a reverse gate, i'm gonna have to check that out.
-edit- orignally i was gonna say, wah pedal, with compression sustainer and chorus. |

Yes that is reverse gate-
It's more a studio effect not a guitar processor. |
When i plug in my guitar in to the soundcard i only get sound on 1 speaker...how can i get it stereo?

wow, what song is that?
|
reverse gate is used a lot on Janet Jackson's " What have you done for me lately" song- if you hear the sound of her snare
A lot of R&B producers use the effect on their drums- |
