Ive got 2 computers, 3 network cards, no router.. how can i share internet?

Anyone know how to set up internet sharing?

2 NIC cards in Box 1
1 NIC card in Box 2

Plug internet line into Box 1
Run crossover cable from Box 1 to Box 2

Set static IPs or use Windows XP to configure them both

IE: Static IP for Box 1 would be 192.168.1.100 and for Box 2 it would be 192.168.1.101

bringer 05-03-2005 04:57 PM

why spend hours and hours configuring it when you could just buy a $25 router?

it takes about 10 minutes...but funny enough if he doesn't have a router he probably doesn't have a crossover cable :)

it takes about 10 minutes if you know what you're doing
having started this thread leads me to believe he'll encounter several problems and spend hours troubleshooting on google

Yea if the person knows what he is doing. But a person doesn't know what he is doing would have a problem.

I just sold a Linksys 4 port on eBay last week. The winning bid was $14.00.
