oh n/m thought you were posting about the 19" not the 17"

read the reviews http://www.anandtech.com/displays/showdoc.aspx?i=2332
I read a few reviews on that monitor before I decided to buy.. Seems it plays DVDs, videos and games with no issues. Is also one of the higher ranking monitors in all the reviews.

markyman 05-03-2005 06:22 AM

Now that was a crazy deal.

markyman 05-03-2005 06:41 AM

$232!!? for the 19incher?? No i got them for $299 shipped, free shipping I thought that was a hell of a deal

imafuckingaussie 05-03-2005 06:59 AM

Can someone explain something to me about Dell LCD's?

I was checking out dells the other day comparing the regular 19inch lcd with their "ultrasharp" one and on their site they show the specs of the regular one having a much faster response time than the ultrasharp. Anyone compared the standard and ultrasharp?

MickeyG 05-03-2005 07:42 AM

wow great deal, thanks for sharing .

DutchTeenCash 05-03-2005 07:53 AM

we defenitely need a 50% off here in Holland too

Methodcash Rick 05-03-2005 08:00 AM

Even at the "reduced price", it's not that great of a deal.. I just picked up 2 Acer 19"s with a 12ms response time for $270 each..

Isn't that like comparing a Kia to a BMW?

Methodcash Rick 05-03-2005 08:16 AM

Considering the Dells have a 20ms response time, & the Acers have 12ms, it'd be like a Kia with a Viper V10 vs a BMW 320i..

Just cuz it says Dell on the outside, does not automatically make it a superior product..
:winkwink:

true but honestly I'd feel alot better buying a dell then an Acer. Back in the old days Acer used to make some really crappy products, maybe their different now but they really used to suck.

samsam 05-03-2005 03:31 PM

Dell rules.

I have an ultrasharp flat panel lcd monitor from dell and its fucking good.

this particular Dell model is 20ms.. which is slow. their higher end models have 16ms and 12ms refresh rates. for gaming, you need at least 16ms. dell's 20" widescreen LCD for instance is 12ms... and uses the same LG LCD screen that is found on Apple's 20" LCDs. (for 1/2 the price). the best feature of the high end Dell LCDs is the multitude of video inputs/features: PIP,S-video, RGB-composite, DVI, VGA. works great as a multimedia/PC monitor.

tranza 05-03-2005 04:20 PM

This is the kind of deal that I won't let pass when I live in the US.

tranza 05-03-2005 04:26 PM

Well, with the 40% off you can get them for the same price you would if you bought them off E-bay....

My programmer has two of those, I think they're too bright when brand new. :2 cents:

Well I'll let you guys know how it does on gaming when I get mine.. I read several reviews and they all claimed this monitor worked great. So I'm sure I'll find out soon enough. I needed a second monitor anyway.
