AOL email whitelist questions
http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/421dynt1.html
and http://postmaster.info.aol.com/tools...st_guides.html How's this work??? If you submit and they accept you will your email no longer be "blocked" globally? Meaning if someone in the past said you were "spam" for whatever reason and you got onto this "whitelist" will you now be able to send emails to those who actually request it??? I have a signup form for a blog site and emails to AOL users after signup always get refused. The people signing up need their profile info sent to them, so they are actually wanting these emails. |
yea basically your mail will be delivered without problems. Make sure your form is secure against form post spammers or else you'll get blacklisted.

It's a coldfusion kinda signup form where after a completed sign-up emails get sent to me and the person just signing up.... |
dont run any form post mail scripts at all.
secure your mailing box, make sure you have reverse dns set up, check with samspade to see if your hosting company is blacklisted all ready. if it is they wont deal with you unless you change hosting companys. honestly, its best to give them a call and get an open loop and a ref number. call the post master number listed somewhere on that page. also, know this even if you are white listed you are still not going to get 100% of mail into aol (adult bigtime, mainstream, not so much as long as you are missing the major keywords for filters).this sucks, they will tell you it sucks, but there isnt anything you can do to avoid it. |
cool, thanks for the tips.
most of the stuff you mention I'm Ok with already but will look deeper... |
