Ebay Mania...

I have gone Ebay crazy now that I've got some time and health is better.

I can't believe all the cool shit I bought in a few weeks. For the little I paid my collection is now triple the value. I had studied Ebay for years but was too busy to deal with it.

I've met people whose entire life is buying and trading on Ebay!

If you know how to trade, spend some time each day to check your stats and appease your customers you could literally be in a great 5 figure income in a few weeks to a few months.

Depending on niches and willingness to deal with people.

It's freaking amazing!

Anybody here Ebay til the break of dawn?

The stuff you bought is worth what you paid for it on eBay and nothing more. I don't care what it says it's worth in your spiderman action figure collector's book.

indeed, the fact that no one else could be fucked to buy it at the price that you did, pretty much means its worth less than you paid, not what some freak tells you...

I buy mystery boxes and resell them

Ebay

I've seen idiots pay way more than stuff is worth on E-bay. Nikon camera's etc can be got from B&H in NY for less than people bid on that site. I sold my Nikon Dx1 for just $100 less than i paid for it after 2 years of use and more than 120,000 images shot. If your selling i say E-bay rocks.

heh, i both at ebay something every week.

Eat fag ass you lack wit!

Everything I've purchased was below value and since the offers I've gotten are triple. So you can take your armchair idiocy and shove it.

What I purchase is for me, not resell.

Just because you got burned when your He-Man action figures didn't bring you shit doesn't make you an expert on someone else's deals.

True. When I originally thought of that, that was the day I stopped buying baseball cards when I was young.

You still can find some great deals on eBay. My cell phone broke...nothing fancy. Sprint store said 75.00 to fix it (give me one just like it) or buy a 200.00 phone and get a 150.00 mail in rebate. I bought the same phone for 16.50 including shipping and it work just fine. :)

It's just a matter of using your head! :thumbsup

The trick to buying and selling on Ebay is time. It's kind of like the stock market...certain collectibles have highs and lows. You need to buy during the lows and sell during the highs.

For example, say you bought a Fantastic Four #1 in near mint condition on Ebay two years ago. You could have got a decent deal. Then 1 year ago, everyone knew the movie was coming out so the price jumped 25%. Still, it would be better to buy than sell. Now we're two months away from the release of the movie. If you bought 2 years ago, you stand to make about $10k in profit. If you bought 1 year ago, you'll probably still make a few thousand.

Now, after the movie comes out, the book may or may not continue to increase in price. If the movie sucks, it will decrease in price. If the movie is great, it will increase in price, especially if they do sequels. X-Men #1 increased in price after each movie.

I buy and sell PEZ on ebay all the time, if I had the extra time I could make a killing, i have thousands of PEZ that need to be sold on there....i can buy boxes of european sets for $20 and seperate all pieces and sell them individually for $2-5 a piece

You can say that again!

One thing I've learned on Ebay is if it's too expensive on Ebay, it's for sale somewhere else. If you do a reasonable search and find the manufacturer or a reseller you can do awesome!

Two things I did that got me great deals is I found a manufacturer to a computer thing I wanted. Sure enough he was right here in town. Saved a ton. The other was found the manufacturer to a rare toy set I wanted and sure enough instead of paying $50 for it on Ebay I can get it for $4.50 GBP!

Mind you, not even the guys I work with in animation knew some of these toys existed and I found em' on Ebay for pennies on the dollar! Some a wee bit lower than manufacturer's price and some rare ones a few bucks more. Yet by using Ebay wisely I have all my Christmas gift shopping done in like a few weeks!

Bottom line is availability and rarity. If you have access to something people want, you rule. You set your own price and hope someone is lazy or dumb enough not to know where you got it.

Greg B 04-30-2005 05:48 PM

Oh! And there's a funny way that brings you traffic to your website by using Ebay! Depending on what you sell you can indeed snag up an armload of signups to your site without violating their terms of service or spamming. It's a cakewalk.
