Anyone skateboard and live in LA?
Ive been out here for a while now and I'm curious if you guys know anyone wants to go skate today.
Ive been riding around hollywood looking for spots but so far most places have been a huge bust. Skateparks are kinda stupid and I'm not down for the whole wearing pads deal. Backyard miniramps or a pool would be fun! Hit me up... -Chris |
Man, there's a bowl over by Lenny's now on Memorial, haven't checked it out yet.

Remember the reeb ramp in atlanta? that was the best ramp in the south at one time. Nothing beats the peachtree marta sessions and skating rampage after hours piss drunk. lol -Cs |
Reeb, hell yeah the rancheros, stinky snakers.

Glendale skatepark is awesome, just about 15-20 minutes from Hollywood.
Let me look for the link for a demo video A couple of cool pools, bowls & snake runs. Save your knees for later in life, you'll need them. |

Barcelona looks like a fun place to ride. Ive seen so much footage from my bros back in atlanta, lots of brick and tile everywhere and more importantly, you dont ahve to run from the cops I hear. You in LA? -Chris |

LOL, I have already been through tons of broken bones... Pads are gay. after 15 years of riding Ive broken some things twice. Nothing better than doing full cabs down 10 stairs and lading on your ribs :) What doesnt kill you only makes you stronger. |

check out my shit at: http://members.aol.com/evolbaby
Now that my knees are better I will be skating like a mofo. You don't need a park. There are streets out here that have awesome runs. Try skating 'from' Griffith Park Observatory in any direction and your manhood will be tested! LA street skating is like nowhere else! Dodgin' coyotes, skunks, possums, rattlers, old Ebay cartons and them clothesline super spider webs... I ran into one of them fuckers and it almost cut my throat. There're drainage ditches near the park too for big ass fullpipes. http://members.aol.com/evolbaby/Evolb.gif |

Greg B, I dont doubt that one bit.
It's probably like dodging car doors that poeple open when you skate through city traffic in the south. I look forward to bombing a good hill anyday. Stoked on the full pipes man, I'll find them. -Chris |

I know you ain't for helmets and pads but I always advise to use them. When you see the pros in the mags not wearing helmets and shit it's because in the old days when they wore helmets you couldn't tell who they were in the pics and other photoshoots. Ending up older with unworkable body parts is not good. You can't defend yourself in a fight or protect your loved ones. Looking 'cool' is not worth living in chronic pain for life. |

Greg B, Looking cool has nothing to do with not choosing to wear pads. They get in the way and weigh you down. They are like tight rubberbands around your joints and add extra inches to your body resulting in kneeing yourself in the face with a piece of plastic. I do think one should know their own ability and if they feel the need, go for it... Nothing wrong with it... If I had a child that skated I would make "it" wear pads. Off to find the full pipe. |
