My Favorite Movie As A Kid Is Being Remade!

Who can ever forget the memorable movie lines-

"Hey Lupus you booger eating spaz!"
"All we got on this team are a buncha Jews, spics, hahahahahahas, pansies, and a booger-eatin' moron!"

It's back!

Billy Bob Thornton as " Buttermaker"
It's too perfect!

I was privy to seeing them shoot a few scenes in the Valley months ago- and now that I found out what the movie was- I am so excited!!

Coming in July! with Greg Kinnear- This movie has to be hilarious

eroswebmaster 04-29-2005 03:41 PM

Ah man...that just fucking sucks.
I love Thornton's work..but this is a classic movie.

Babagirls 04-29-2005 03:43 PM

Billy Bob Thornton will reunite with his BAD SANTA writers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa for a remake of the classic 1976 comedy THE BAD NEWS BEARS. The original film starred Walter Matthau as a beer drinking manager of a ragtag little league team. The original was edgy fare for a kids baseball movie and included lines like "All we got on this team are a buncha Jews, spics, hahahahahahas, pansies, and a booger-eatin' moron!" Consider the remake will come from the team behind BAD SANTA expect the new version to retain that edge. BAD NEWS is just one of the latest remakes in line at Paramount. They have MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE, STEPFORD WIVES and the AFLIE remake coming later this year and also have remakes of WAR OF THE WORLDS, THE LONGEST YARD and even PET SEMATARY in the works. Thornton just released THE ALAMO for Disney and is now filming FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS with producer Brian Glazer and director Peter Berg (THE RUNDOWN). No word yet on whether the BAD NEWS remake will spawn numerous sequels and TV shows like the original did.

I saw this movie in the theaters when it first came out...it's been playing on cable here lately and been trying to get my nieces to watch it.

pornguy 04-29-2005 03:47 PM

That should be interesting. But I fear that they will make it politically correct, and that will fuck it up.

xclusive 04-29-2005 03:47 PM

I hope they don't fuck it up

Yeah you won't have Tanner complaining that he's on a team full of "N iggers, spics, jews, faggots and booger eaters."

Me too! :1orglaugh

I'm not sure if anyone will ever be able to remake "The Bad News Bears" with any great success. Walter Matthau and his attitude is what made that movie so great. Well, the deliquent kids played a part but a small one.

It's like remaking "The Last Starfighter" using Brad Pitt. It just won't work. :(

EXACTLY!

There is no way they'll show Walter Matthau's character drinking beer and getting drunk around a bunch of kids during a little league game. We live in a P.C. Society now and it sucks ass!!!

sickkittens 04-29-2005 04:37 PM

This movie should have never been touched. :(

Radical Rick 04-29-2005 04:39 PM

Never saw or heard about it until now.

Depends if they market it as a kids' movie or if they go for an R rating.

Bad Santa was an awesome movie.

Actually the new movie in not a remake as much as it is a more accurate take on the orginal book. The author actually hated the first Willy Wonka movie.

jollyperv 04-29-2005 10:15 PM

They're gonna make this movie all P.C. and take the racial slurs out of it I'm sure.
