My 1st time fo PHO!
 

So Just_Dave introduced me to PHO today. Im speechless. We went to some hole in the wall in Van Nuys and man that was some awsome soup. I think my sinuses are cleared for the next 6 months.

Pho is awesome during cold winter nights.

A lot of my friend like Pho and they go for it all the time. There are about a million places around here that you can get pho, it's crazy.

Those are the best places to get it. Just make sure there's an A in the window...

the best place to go in the valley is pho so 1 on the corner of sepulveda and victory, right next to ranch 99 market and sam woo

It is kind of like PHU. or FLU.

One day at Pho. I brought my family in and we had 5 people. We ate and noticed something strange. 4 Vietnamese couples came in and ate soup and then left without paying. Strange. Then my bill comes and it is $68. It isn't itemized. I add up in my head what my family ate and it is about $32. So where did the $36 more come from? The soups the other couples ate were about $6 each so I figure they are charging the white guy for everyone elses soups? Hmm???

I go to the register and everyone who works behind the counter are like hush hush and won't make eye contact. So I ask for my check the waiter wrote out and they can't find it. I take out a menu and add up everything on a piece of paper for them and tell them that is all I will pay. They can't speak English. I take out my phone and proceed to call the cops and suddenly they speak English and fix my bill.

Crazy fuckers...

Its Vietnamese soup. Its kinda spicy but minty. They put some thin sliced beef in there and it cooks in the soup because its really thin. And if you pay them somthing extra under the table, they will use a some good quality dog, just like real Viet soup!!

Pho is gods gift to mankind :D

It's also one of the few things that even tastes good when you have a really bad hangover :winkwink:

My girl is Viet and introduced me to it a few years ago and I LOVE it... Its one of the best things ever.. The valley places are all good but her mom and dad make it at home and it will blow away any that you get in the valley..

Honestly I do not even think there is any kinda written recipe.. They just make it and toss in whatever they have around.. I also know it takes almost full day to make the "base' of it with the beef broth and cooking down the onions...

I took that to mean that they allow dogs in the restaurant.

I love pho, my girlfriend is Vietnamese and she was the one who introduced it to me.

I would eat Pho every day if I could.
