Is This Fraud? - Need Help (Same IP's For All AOL Leads)
I am advertising with a Cost Per Acquisition network paying per unique lead, and dozens of the same leads from AOL email addresses have the same IP. Can this be legit even though the people reside in different parts of the USA?
|
AOL went to regional IP's about 18 months ago so don't rule all of them bogus just based on the IP.

aol uses proxies so you will get a kazillion ppl using the same IP

If they are from aol email yeah they'd have the same IP... Because with the way aol is setup with their email now most of it stays on their server so the ip is probably being pulled from the mail server at AOL. :thumbsup |
you should expect that, look up the ip to make sure its an aol proxy though

It's a miserable experience dealing with those performance based mainstream affiliate ad networks. I've spent tens of thousands over the past several months and gotten utter crap leads. I disapprove 95% of the affiliates that request to display my campaign but I still can't weed out the cheaters. Ugh.

Thank you spunkmaster, KMan, JFPdude and hydro for your responses. They were very helpful.

Hershie hit me up on ICQ 44-33-144

If you want the real ip address of AOL surfers, then use SSL

I got the same host and IP address on one member that looks to be fraud (multiple sign ups).
All from the same state though... |
