What's the best FTP program ?
 

I recently had a problem where I had to re-install my system and figured that I'd go with a different FTP program since I've used WS_FTP Pro forever and figure that maybe I'll give something else a try.

Any recommendations ? It doesn't matter if it's something that I'd have to pay for, I'm not looking for freebies, just something that does a good job :)

I love FlashFXP... you can easily do computer to server, server to server, etc. And it's great at picking up where it left off if you get disconnected. :thumbsup

I have used Cute for a long time,never had a problem with it

I just started using FileZilla a week ago and it's great... fast, efficient & can connect through both FTP & SFTP

WS-FTP is still the best I've tried. Cute's ok also.

there is no "best".

if you wanna be efficient and effective, you use a combination of different programs. Why? Because they all have different and valuable features that the others don't. One is not "better" than the other..... just different.

Some of the best features include:

the built in ftp in DWMX: grab any file or directory and hit upload... it creates all the directorys to match your drive automatically, and will not upload anything you've already uploaded. (same file)

FTP Voyager: Ability to filter any file, folder, word, extension, etc.... with one rule. No other FTP will do this.

WSFTP Pro: Total control. Ability to CHMOD with a click. (etc..) Ability to see hidden files other FTP programs can't.

3D-FTP: Pure multi-threaded speed. (when uploading multiple files)



there is no single solution. And if there is.... ONE program.... that has all of these things.... I've not found it. Use different programs for different tasks. Just like anything else. :2 cents:

I've been using aceftp for a while now, my favorite ftp program now

Sheeit I've never changed FTP programs since.... well, never. Started using WSFTP_LE back in the late 90's and never looked at anything else. Well, I tried Cute once, seemed okay and came highly recommended, but since I usually don't fix want ain't broke I stuck with old reliable WS.

Same here. Tried using WS FTP recently and wasn't too happy with it.

been using ws_ftp pro since i started 6 years ago and haven't switched; only upgraded!

I like Smart FTP and especially the upload queue feature.

I use Cute. But why not just use Windows Explorer. Esp for surfers or noobs. Just click and drag.

Leap FTP is my favorite for PCs.

Fetch is the best overall, on macs.

Been using FlashFXP for years, I love it.

Ws Ftp Pro

smart ftp is what I use now, that and ws ftp (older version of pro)

I used to use flash fxp, but it sucks compared to smart ftp.

i use FTP Commander and never had problems

Im using flashfxp version 3.0 I think it one of the best there is. :)

Been using ws_ftp for for years ...love it!

WS_FTP Pro... haven't encountered any problems for years now
