I suggest to try getting a QRay - it helped me a good bit takes a couple of days - but after that I didn't have any more pain. highly recommend getting the deluxe version as its stainless steal and doesnt change color or anything http://www.qray.com/qray20/product.asp?sku=4016&fqb=1 |
It's a pretty bad condition, that shit took my wife out for a couple years.
SHe is finally gettin back in to knockin out sites and traffic. It's been crippling, very crippling for us both. So take care of your hands don't push them to hurt you will definatly suffer longterm. All I can do is design shit, with her down for quite sometime she was not able to drive like we used to regarding traffic and shit. |
i think i'm used to it by now...
just strech your wrist every so often...should help |
Hey guys what are the symptoms cause lately my right hand hurts...

had it, got a CTR, took care of it. A CTR is pretty painful though, so unless you are in a lot of pain, you might just want to get a better keyboard and a brace |

Numbness in hand, particulary around thumb and index finger . . . usually in the AM as I recall . . (it has been 10 years since I had it) |
Get a brace and a new setup for your arms/hands for working ..I have a mild form of it........
|
im pretty sure I will get it sooner or later

It is because most people are right handed. Usually caused by repetitive movement, however, can also be caused severe impact |

Guys, take it from me, my doctor told me there is 1 sure fire cure for this:
Support your arm. Sit so the weight it resting 2 inches past your elbow or so on the desk, then get one of those gel wrist-rests and put it under your wrist. balance the weight between the two and use your wrist slightly / but mostly your fingers to move the mouse. I had EXTREME pain for a week a few years ago and my doctor immediately ordered me to take time off work or risk permanent damage. I rested up and followed his instructions for mouse operation safety ( haha yes that's what he called it ) and now my wrist VERY rarely hurts. Only when I am using a laptop on a couch or something for a few hours does CTS flare up, and then only slightly. Watch out people, I have known a few people to basically have to retire from much computer use as their right hand had lost a lot of mobility. |
Huggles is right on. The pain is caused by inflammation in the bundle of nerves in your wrist. In order to prevent having to have surgery to clean out the tunnel, you should rest until the pain is gone and wear a brace to support your wrist when you work.
I didn't and I didn't for years and ended up with nearly useless hands. The doctor agreed to perform surgery but he was unconvinced it would do any good because I'd waited too long. I was lucky and it worked, but I was scared. It's nothing to make light of as we use these hands of ours to make a living, no matter what job it is. |
thanks for the information. i'll be watching my health more closely.

I'm really amazed I don't have it. I bought a mousepad with a gel wrist-rest about 3 years ago to help avoid getting it. Best "peripheral" I've ever purchased for my PC. I also make sure my arms are bent at a 90 degree angle while typing or mousing. That helps a lot too.
