CCBill Jeff... Updates on his Dodgeball-injury/recovery?

I know Jeff was going in for surgery a week or two ago, to repair his Dodgeball-related leg injury, but I have not heard of any updates. Just checking on you Jeff, and sending out my luv and best wishes to you for a speedy recovery!! :party-smi

Jeffne 04-28-2005 10:08 AM

Hi Vanilla,

I am alive but not kicking :) Surgery went as well. The first week was tougher than I expected. I will be in a brace for 5 weeks, and I start rehab in 2 weeks. Recover is time consuming because my leg has to be in a CPM (machine that moves my leg) for 6 hours a day. However, the positive side of this is I get to hold my newborn a heck of lot more :) Still can't drive and won't be able to for another 4 weeks. Kristin has been great, she is taking very good care of me. I will be walking on my own again in no time :)

Thanks for checking in,

Jeff

Yes, its called a Quadricep Tendon Rupture = Quadricep tore away from the tendons attached to my knee

I heard it loud and clear when it happened. Even though I was not in servere pain I knew I was in trouble :(

Thanks Stewie, your right, things like this happen when you turn 30...well 39 :)

SteveLightspeed 04-28-2005 11:14 AM

I couldn't feel worse about this Jeff! Every year there is an injury at Phoenix Forum, I really hoped we would break the curse this year!

Wish you a speedy recovery!

Steve Lightspeed

Dirty F 04-28-2005 11:18 AM

I saw it happen...it didnt look bad at all, you just made a weird move. Unbelievable that it turned out to be so bad.

Tala 04-28-2005 11:22 AM

OUCH!!!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. That shit hurts like a motherfucker. (I've had a knee completely rebuilt...took me 2 years to walk correctly again)

Ecksent 04-28-2005 11:27 AM

Man, I don't really know ya, but good luck with the recovery. I'm 26 and have screwed up my knees playing football and baseball in high school and college. No surgery yet, but I'm just waiting on the day to hear something go *SNAP* or *POP*. So take care man. (and take Vanilla up on the sponge bath offer) HA!

beemk 04-28-2005 11:28 AM

jovigirl 04-28-2005 11:30 AM

He was doing one of his patented dive and dodge moves... kind of like the Matrix with a little Breakin' 2 - Electric Boogaloo mixed in.

Jeff, you'd better be getting that leg better in time for Internext. I want to be sticking it close on that island green again, at Doral.

Steve

Lets just say it was fun explaining to Workman's Comp about this injury.

Do you think any off these factors could have set off the red flags

1. Employee was not at the office when injury occurred
2. Employee was at a hotel on a tennis court
3. Employee was at an adult webmaster get together (had to carefully
word this)
4. Employee works for a computer company but he was playing Dodgeball
5. What is Dodgeball?, and why is your employee playing this during work:)

I knew at this point since there was not a drop down bar for a Dodgeball injury, I was in for a long phone call. I survied the call and got him covered, but you now owe me 3 hrs back on my life:)

Steve in the tradition of Lightspeed Cash always coming up with "1st". You will be proud to know that Lightspeed Dodge Ball 2005 created the Very 1st Dodgeball Work Comp injury in Arizona. I am sure that they will probably send you an award (or maybe judgment) for this wonderful achievement.
