Slavik kicks Domain King's butt in domain battle over voyuer.com
As reported elsewhere, there was a battle of the domain titans Slavik Viner ("Xedoc") and "Domain King" Rick Schwartz ("Virtual Dates") over voyuer.com at the National Arbitration Forum:
http://www.arb-forum.com/domains/decisions/433802.htm Complainant is Virtual Dates, Inc. (?Complainant?), represented by Howard Neu of Law Office of Howard Neu, P.A., 1152 North University Drive, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024. [...] Complainant?s additional submission consists of an Affidavit of Richard Schwartz... [...] The Panel is most disturbed by Complainant?s additional submission. The Schwartz declaration is unsupported by any evidence. The Schwartz Declaration contradicts the very trademark application on which Complainant basis its request for relief. [...] Complainant mischaracterizes the decision in The Cold War Museum v. Nicolas Jampol, FA96594 (Nat. Arb. Forum Feb. 8, 2001). [...] Schwartz? misleading affidavit... [...] Complainant has not established all three elements required under the ICANN Policy; the Panel concludes that relief shall be DENIED. Slavik holds onto the domain, in victory. I told Domain King his trademark registrations were worthless, years ago. Glad to see that Slavik and the Panel agreed. That makes 3 UDRP losses for "the King", the other 2 being for racingform.com and adtsucks.com, see: http://arbiter.wipo.int/domains/dec...d2001-1032.html http://arbiter.wipo.int/domains/dec...d2001-0213.html Way to go, Slavik. :thumbsup |

That was a $112,100 domain at SnapNames, if folks don't realize the value and significance of that type-in.

Slavik is a PIMP! Nice meeting you in vegas. Had a good time at ICE and the sky box.

Slavik is a very successful young man.

how old is he if that is not a secret? |
seems more like a personal beef than a legit claim to me

Spend under $2000 at UDRP, to take a shot at a $100,000+ domain. But, lose your reputation when they find against you. :1orglaugh
Here's to a 3-time loser. :drinkup |

I am lost, why were they fighting over it? Do not tell me mr. airbursh tried to get it for free since he owns the non mis-spell?

Rick will have to settle for his "billions" of dollars worth of domains:
http://www.webmastering.com/busplan.htm "My $2 million investment has a current net worth of over $1 billion in RAW and UNDEVELOPED .com assets just waiting to be developed and brought to the next level." (screenshot at http://www.loffs.com/images/domainkingbillions.gif in case the original link mysteriously changes) I wonder if the ex-wife's divorce lawyer is aware of that domain portfolio valuation? $500 million would be a big payout for her, if she in entitled to half. |
Bradshaw: yeah, he took a shot at trying to get it on the cheap. Kudos to Slavik for not bowing down before his one-time mentor.
Are there any folks still left on Rick's private board, in the face of this humiliating defeat? |

Does anyone know how much money JoAnne Schwartz got? |
George, you might be gloating because you got booted but he is still one successful guy. Was he wrong to go for the mis-spell? probably so, but Jeez dude.
Hal, wouldnt you consider that personal? |
If one measures "success" by losing UDRPs, he has me beat by a country mile. :)

Lee,
I am just wondering if it was close to the $500 million number that he estimates is half his net worth. |

Schwartz concluded, ?what I do is legal and moral, what some others in the business do is illegal. Like hijacking domains, extortion, stealing content and worse. We can call them crooks because that is exactly what they are. Then we have the infringers that try and extort money from companies and that practice gives us all a bad name. They are the true cyber squatters that have soiled all our good names and had us all painted with the same brush as they are.? Schwartz believes that ?making statements like that makes me an unpopular guy among every infringer, cyber squatter, hijacker and every other wrong doer. There is a small but vocal group that never misses an opportunity to say something nasty or make some crap up about me. So when you hear the attacks, look a little deeper and you usually find a motive.? It's statements like the above that beg for one to point out the hypocrisy -- he's the one with the 3 UDRP losses. I can only imagine the emails he sent to Slavik before filing the UDRP for voyuer.com. |
