Help me to pick a new laptop
 

i am helping a friend "girl" ;) to pick a decent laptop for an average price of 1200 euros. what can you guys reccomend on that price range? i noticed that toshiba, samsung, hp prices are very similar for similar models. other brands have lower price but i am afraid the material that laptops are made sucks. i bough an AIRIS laptop and i am the only one that can use it because the letters on the keyboard are disapearing and the laptop metal is getting oxidated ;/

My choice would be between a Dell.com laptop, or a Toshiba.. here's your first clue ;)

Get an alienware. You can find them on ebay for $1200 or so.

i cant buy anything abroad last time i bough an 50 usd article and i payed 100 EUROS of custom taxes.
what can i say, i love portugal ....

I have the Dell 8600 that I use for my day to day computer and I love it :)

My (very) old toshiba was reliable. I like Vaio's too :2 cents:

i found one very balanced toshiba and for a good price, probably i have found the laptop i was looking for and everyone seems to be happy with toshiba :thumbsup

go for Toshiba mate.. :)

I would go with an HP or a DELL

Sony VAIO, I wouldn't use anything else.
