Anders Manga from North Carolina. One of the best new Goth bands I've heard in a long time. They are also Industry, and you might recognize some faces in there. :)

I know the music police don't consider manson goth but most people would think manson when they think goth and his influences are very goth :2 cents:

Disintegration was released in '89... Disintegration kicks ass. even 92's Wish was pretty good. It was only in '96 that the gems started being outweighed by the duds - round & round & round?!?!?!? And even still i've bought the more recent ones for the decent songs on each.

My mistake, Disintegration is a great album, but after that they just lost it... just my opinion.

Yeah I lot of people didn't like Wish, I thought it was pretty good, but i'll agree that it was fairly downhill after that, although an out of form cure is still better than a lot of other bands. If they had just released the best 12 songs from the past 3 albums and soundtrack singles they wouldn't have lost as much respect i think.

Well, yeah, even if they are out of form they are way better than a lot of stuff out there now, yet RS should update his look :)

Tango 04-28-2005 08:50 PM

the cure

psyko514 04-28-2005 08:53 PM

If you wanna label industrial as "goth music", I listen to a lot of KMFDM/MDFMK and Meat Beat Manifesto

I just wrote a long post and my browser crashed, so I'll just agree that early Cure is better than late Cure and industrial counts.

MissMiranda 04-28-2005 11:01 PM

So,

What concerts have people seen?

I saw VNV Nation this last new years (was so fucking excelent)
KMFDM 2 times for there WWlll tour
and Covenant before that.

oh and to make some of you feel nice and old... the only cure cd ive ever posessed is blood flowers.. and NIN- the fragil came out when I was 15

But..im not into alot of the slow goth music at all.

mardigras 04-28-2005 11:15 PM

The Cure is tied for my favorite band ever. :thumbsup

Nirvana? Goth? Do you smoke a lot of crack?

BlueWire 04-28-2005 11:35 PM

Sometimes i watch a marylin manson music video when I dont have a horror film on hand

Linguist 04-28-2005 11:44 PM

Tristania, Aesma Daeva, Sirenia, Theatre of Tragedy (older), Lacrimosa, L'ame immortelle (more industrialish though)

First 4 bands is what I consider to be actual gothic music.... everyone seems to classify it differently though. In this thread alone people named everything from punk to power metal to industrial (that COULD be considered gothic I guess!) :winkwink:

badmunchkin 04-28-2005 11:50 PM

There's not much music that's strictly defined as goth that's any good, but: Skinny Puppy, VAST, Ministry, Ours, NIN, Lacuna Coil & Depeche Mode are nifty

myneid 04-29-2005 12:08 AM

amazing nobody said Sex Gang Children. i'd put them in my top ten favorite goth bands. also TSOL, but that was mostly pre-"goth" and considered punk but they were still goth imo.
