Why wide? Seems like it would make things more complicated if you develop anything on them.

Screaming 04-25-2005 09:33 PM

Seems like a good reason lol. I bought a 57" widescreen tv but it has spent about 98% of its life in 4:3 ratio.

I run 3 viewsonics.. Have for awhile now.. Couldnt have it any other way. Make sure to buy 3 matching (at least brand) video cards its the best way to do it. (some brands wont even work together)

I went with all ati radeons. Icq me if you need help, I have several setups in the house like this. ;)

MrVids 04-25-2005 11:37 PM

widescreens never made sense to me for pc's, great for movies but on a pc you'll run out of heighth before girth ;).

i just bought a pair of the 2001FP 4:3 dell 20.1" LCD's. They are tight. a little more $ thand the 2005 but well worth it

WarChild 04-25-2005 11:41 PM

Why did you cheap out and not get the 24" ?? I'm dissapointed in you Guido :(

Downtime 04-25-2005 11:53 PM

Some cards support dual-monitor, dunno why he mentioned it, so with a new pci-e mobo it is fairly easy... (in fact you can do 3)

Plus I bet he was suggesting using like 1x AGP card, and 2x PCI but that would suck :winkwink:

LOL then youre doing something wrong haha
they have a 'smart' function
plus most of em have up and down arrows to move the screen a lil up in case of subtitles
result: perfect, full wide screen and not stretched.

I already bought:
juicywidescreen.com
juicy20inch.com

arnette 04-26-2005 04:49 AM

3 cards? wtf
most decent cards now come with 2 outputs, so get 2 cards (like i have) for up to 4 monitors, or by a quad output card. using 3 cards is silly

Not when you want highly graphic intensive shit to run on each screen its not. ;) I have dual output cards but when I tried to run two intense screenfulls it was choppy.. Thus I went with 3 cards, course money is no object for me so that may be why.
