The issue to be considered is for the life of the domain, some of your traffic will go to him automatically.

depends on what your plans are and what the .com is aimed at. It's inevitable to lose traffic to the .com but the risks differ.

I want to put up a few tgps, hub sites and seo optimized pages. the .coms are being redirected to a small adult book store or a reseller of domains. you know click here to buy this domain now and stuff.

why not come up with a new name ?

probably not. people are too used to going to dot coms.

How much do they want? I wouldnt build shit on .net unless it was yahoo or dmoz listed.

mate just find a new name but make sure you register a .com .. :)

i would never take something els then .com i would change the name so there is a domains that is free with the .com

i'd find a new name, would lose type in traffic to .com, sounds like your ripping off other domain too.
