Why do the keypads at the ATM have braile
The ATM doesn't talk and the blind can't see what is on the screen so what is the point? What's next an IPod for the deaf?

section 4.34.4 of the ADA Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities (Appendix to Part 1191, 36 CFR Chapter XI, issued pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990) says, "Instructions and all information for use [of an automated teller machine] shall be made accessible to and independently usable by persons with vision impairments."

Maybe they do talk??
|
yeah, they do talk, there's a headphone jack on them... so you can use brail on the keypad, and plug your headphones in to listen to the options ;)
|
So companies have to spend money putting on these things for the 1 or 2 blind guys that could easily get someone do it for them?

"Excuse me, sir, can you help me withdraw four hundred dollars?" "Sure, what's your PIN?" "2453... hello... are you there?" |
