most people suffer from lower back pain and there's not much you can do about it.

stretches for the lower back and lumbar, exercising the spinal erectors... and some NSAIDs

If you suffer from back pain, there's a very good chance that it's all in your head.

Don't believe me?

Read "Mind Over Back Pain" by John Srano, MD.

Changed my life...changed Howard Stern's life (that's how I first heard of the book) and countless other peoples' lives!

billywatson 04-24-2005 08:19 AM

Whoops! That's John SARNO, MD.

Sorry.

kenny 04-24-2005 08:22 AM

All in my head? Maybe it was in my doctors head when he told me my disc exploded and there was nothing left but fragments. I do think I could have done without the third surgery. :Oh crap

XPorn 04-24-2005 09:55 AM

broke part of my back skydiving.....so yes....tends to hurt.

Well, you shoulda mentioned that...Sarno argues that if there's no structural damage to your back, then it's probably your body's way of manifesting stress.

pxxx 04-24-2005 12:19 PM

My back is just fine.

European Lee 04-24-2005 12:21 PM

Chances are, if you do its your chair.

We changed out our office a couple of weeks ago and got new chairs to sit on, the problem was, the way the chairs were shaped did our backs no good :(

We changed the chairs out and the problems with back pain ended a couple of days later.

Regards,

Lee

Amazing book. I was stuck in bed for two months before I read this book and followed through. That was 2 years ago and no problems since.

if you keep your knees slightly elevated above your hips when sitting it removes most of the stress that is put on your back.
