GreatDomains domain sale

Hmmmm.
what to do

Great Domains wants to list one of my
mainstream domains that I don't really
do anything with....

Anyone ever use them ?????

They want to set a "list price" and
a reserve price......
( I didn't indicate a price intially )
Thet want the reserve to be 60% of list.......

Anyone "really" into valuing domains or such??

(Not the usual ways I see here either LOL)

what's the domain? you might get more for it here without having to pay a commission

Lester 04-22-2005 11:20 AM

had it from when I was part of a printing firm and we created a web design company within it...

tungsten 04-22-2005 11:22 AM

not a bad domain

davethetruth 04-22-2005 11:23 AM

Great domain. I'm sure you could get a fair price from someone here :)

Verbal 04-22-2005 11:23 AM

Lester, send me an email with your asking price ... I might be interested.

Since adobe and macromedia are soon becoming one i thought i'd toss out a feeler or two.

Guess I'm thinking' someone at GD knows someone who knows someone so they make a "good" offer thinking that they can maybe then resell and get a "better offer" from another buyer etc etc

It's like real estate LOL but sooo much tougher to set an asking price.

email me the domain and I can try to put a value for it, and compare it to greatdomains.

edit: nevermind just read the thread.

Phill 04-22-2005 11:47 AM

Will they attempt to sell it at the list price for a given period first or sell it straight away if the reserve is offered?

Lester 04-22-2005 12:27 PM

I can refuse the "reserve" and hold out for at least the list.

They want a 6 month agreement, although I haven't had a chance to read that yet, had to run into downtown chi-town and take care of some biz.

Wondering what my "refusal" options might be overall...

man o man it's COLD outside again
arghhhhh
(no offense to Chio the Pirate, that's his line)

Are you certain? The e-mail I received specified:

Quote:

We are interested in listing the domain, provided we can
agree on a list price and reserve price. The list price is the price
that will be shown on the site and the reserve price is an unpublished
price that GreatDomains is allowed to accept for the domain. We cannot
accept an offer lower than the reserve price without your consent.

Unfortunately, you'll never get the money from one of us that you'll get if you wait on GreatDomains. Great name, but probably little traffic.

Also post it on Afternic.com and sedo.com. Don't let them tell you it's exclusive to one site. Post it on all of them.

webair 04-22-2005 01:32 PM

Lester contact me with your asking price please

Lester 04-22-2005 01:38 PM
