Superman first look

Don't know if this has been posted yet. The first look at Brandon Routh as Superman, in the upcoming Superman Returns (2006). Looking pretty spot on as a Christopher Reeve clone from here...

As Superman... http://images.usatoday.com/life/_pho...e-superman.jpg http://www.bluetights.net/gallery/al...egraph_001.jpg and as Clark

If Bryan Singer can do with this what he did with the X-Men films, I'll be happy as a pig in shit.

The costume looks kind of faded to me...could be the lighting though.

Not to reply to my own topic or anything, but I found a huge one

Brandon Routh: Hi. I'd like to take out some life insurance.
Insurance Employee: No problem. Could i start with your name, sir?
Brandon Routh: Yes, my name is Brandon Routh.
Insurance Employee: Okay Mr Routh.. Wait, Brandon Routh.. The new Superman?
Brandon Routh: Uhh, yes, that's me.
Insurance Employee: Hold for one moment please.

<insert catchy elevator music here>

Insurance Employee: Goodbye and good luck Mr Routh.

taperr 04-22-2005 07:31 AM

the way they have made his cape etc darker kinda reminds me of when he went bad for a while in the earlier films.

Yes the post Superman years were not kind to the actors who protayed him.

George Reeves - "suicide"

Christopher Reeves - broken neck

Dean Cain - Ripley's Beleive It Or Not

Not sure.

The costume looks a bit cheap.

What was cool about the films was that it had some comedy in them.

I think you need someone who is well known and give superman that edge.

Not sure if you could make a good superman film. After all Superman 4 was terrible.

MandyBlake 04-22-2005 07:45 AM

i never saw any of the superman movies...is that bad?

Christopher Reeves was a complete unknown when he did the first Superman movie.

Thrawn$ 04-22-2005 07:46 AM

it's super twinky

DVTimes 04-22-2005 07:46 AM

He looks a bit young.

But not bad in this pic.

i was thinking the same thing.

I would have Brad Pitt as Superman.

sickkittens 04-22-2005 07:56 AM

Is Tim Burton doing this movie?

Vic Lagina 04-22-2005 07:56 AM

Don't like the costume. Never did like the costume in the movies...I was hoping that since the advancement in technology from the early '80's to now they would have made it look cooler and edgier, but he still is in tights.

In the comic books, he looks cool. Was hoping they could translate that to film, but I guess not.

But, good director on board should make a good movie.

I guess if you wanted a 40 year old effeminine Superman.

DVTimes 04-22-2005 07:59 AM

Brad Pitt is cool.

In my mind I often think I look like him, then I look in the mirror.

Peter Romero 04-22-2005 07:59 AM

My whole life people have always told me (when I'm in shape) that I looked like superman. Until I saw this picture, I never really realized why. It's the cleft chin.

They should have the kid who plays superman on Smallville to do the movie. I can't think of a better person to ever fit the part.

Also, is this movie going to have the Doomsday Superman death storyline? I cried when I was a kid and read the last line about the day a superman died.

Centurion 04-22-2005 12:30 PM

They airbrushed out his buldge! lol

NoCarrier 04-22-2005 12:35 PM

A METROSEXUAL SUPERMAN!?!? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

jollyperv 04-22-2005 12:38 PM

Fucking retarded. Seems like everyone is now officially too stupid to come up with any new ideas. The end is near.
