Content providers ... how do you store your stuff
 

How do you store your scenes .

We are currently getting one external hard drive per scene we shoot but its getting expensive . Id like to know how do you guys keep and backup your content (original + edited version) .

Original = Folder by date and inside of that set name or number.
Edited = Folder by date and set name noted by "done" or any other term you can think of to let you know that editing, watermarking, and/or changes have been completed.

So for example......

Content Originals - FOLDER
3/15/05 - FOLDER
Fireplace - SET
Swimsuit- SET
Jacuzzi- SET

Publication - Folder
3/15/05 - EDITED
Fireplace - SET
Swimsuit- SET
Jacuzzi- SET

We are shooting in HD and doing dvds too ... one scene once all editted weight probably 80-100 gbs ... dont really fit on the HD .

we have a zillion or so backup dvd's
we number them for our stuff and keep them additonal books for clients
we keep the dvd manufacturers in biz

you trust the dvd's? I'm gonna start getting externel drives, fill them, shut them off and put the in the closet
