Another Idea For Lensman

Well it looks as if Lens is in a listening mood. So while he's cleaning up this contest mess maybe it's time to look at sig space.

Top sponsors are allowed to have people on their behalf use full sized banners in their sigs - which is fair.

GFY advertising is expensive - many people in this biz operate businesses that can't afford top banner space - content providers, medium/smaller affiliate programs, design companies, programmers etc

How about offering those kinds of people an 'extended sig space ad opportunity' for say $100 a month and strictly enforcing the sig rules on everybody else?

seems like a good deal to me.

If he did that, I would think $100 is too low. :2 cents:

Stupid idea.

Whats to stop TopBucks from paying $100 (or whatever a month) and no longer being a top sponsor if that goes in to effect?

Who decides what a companies budget is and what they can / cant afford?

Regards,

Lee

I think he meant $100 per signature. So if I want to use a full size banner in my sig to promote my own stuff I can do it without being a top advertiser.

Not $100 a month lets everyone have a full blown banner for your program.

Lenny's got the idea - $100 just came off the top of my head. maybe it's $50 , maybe it's $250 - pricing of extended/premium sig space would just be supply and demand, what the market would bear.

and Lenny's right - it's only for companies you own yourself.

Still wouldnt work if it was on a 'per sig' basis.

Whats to stop someone like TopBucks buying up all the top posters / board whores sigs for a month and not buying a paid ad spot?

Lens is trying to make money not lose it.

Lee

You're a tool.

It would cost topbucks a fuck of a lot more money to buy up all the top poster's sigs than it would to just buy advertising.

Now if you bought someone's sig you have to pay them for flying your sig PLUS pay Lensman to allow the sig to be bigger than normal.

I pay already 500 per month to have sig immunity

You have no clue how to market a program.

You dont neccesarily have to buy all the top posters, just buy a bunch of phillipino sig whores for a month and have them post useless crap in every thread.

Oh wait a minute, thats what these rules were about to begin with.

Lee
