Bombs turn out to be "bongs"

The discovery of what police thought were two pipe bombs inside a would-be thief's vehicle disrupted business activity at Raley's for half of Thursday as police cordoned off a major portion of the parking lot and called in the Sheriff's Bomb Squad.

But the "bombs" were actually mere pipes filled with marijuana.

"They turned out to be bongs," said Chief of Police Art de Werk.
