Why is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu so effect than any other fight system???
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu's emphasis on joint locks and maneuvering rather than strikes means that one's technique can be practiced at full speed and full power, identical to the effort and technique used in a real fight. Training partners can resist and counter just as they would in an actual fight, providing valuable real-world experience should the techniques ever need to be applied in an actual fight. This practice of live training, officially called Randori but commonly known as "rolling" in BJJ circles, is considered by many BJJ practitioners to be the major factor differentiating combat sports (ex. BJJ, Judo, Boxing, Wrestling) from traditional martial arts (ex. Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido).

BJJ is a great discipline and as a stand alone Martial Art I believe its the best. But now a days everybody has ground training and take down defense so the era of BJJ domination is over. Just my opinion.

It sure would be nice to see Rickson fight again though.

My brother has been doing Brazilian Jujitsu for about a year now. I think Royler Gracie is his sensei.

It's pretty cool, but it's definitely not very glamorous imo.

But if it does, I am better trained to win on the ground. Whether it's breaking something, choking his ass out, or just being able to get away. I have the training to do it.

There's a funny bar story about Brazil's team that came to the US for the Pan Am games, and got into it with some Mexican's in a bar.

The club looked like it had one big brown rug so many mexians were choked out in that fight.

You've never fought a BJJ guy in bar before, it doesn't hurt, you wake up wondering what the fuck happened, and why you have an empty bottle of vodka stuck up your ass.

Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Wrestling. Jiu-Jitsu for comfort and skill on the ground, Muay Thai for the ability to elbow, knee, kick, and punch someone's face in standing, and Wrestling in case your fighting someone who's JJ is better, you can avoid going to the ground and use your MT, or vice-versa.
