Best Fight System (Video)
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Example. Royce Gracie 185lbs Watch Video Why is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu so effect than any other fight system??? Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu's emphasis on joint locks and maneuvering rather than strikes means that one's technique can be practiced at full speed and full power, identical to the effort and technique used in a real fight. Training partners can resist and counter just as they would in an actual fight, providing valuable real-world experience should the techniques ever need to be applied in an actual fight. This practice of live training, officially called Randori but commonly known as "rolling" in BJJ circles, is considered by many BJJ practitioners to be the major factor differentiating combat sports (ex. BJJ, Judo, Boxing, Wrestling) from traditional martial arts (ex. Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido). Plus, you earn your belts not pay for them. Discuss |
My ground game is Gracie Jiu Jitsu. Pure water Jits! Straight from the source.
Gracie Academy: Maeda > Helio Gracie > Rorion Gracie > Ryron, Rener, Ralek Gracie > Me Boca BJJ Acacemy: Maeda > Helio Gracie > Royler Gracie > Mauricio Villardo > Me I just have to get my big ole ass to class more often. :) |
|
Royler Gracie Academy
Maeda > Helio Gracie > Royler Gracie > Mike Mrkulic > Me Currently training with a Ricardo Almeida purple belt. Twice a week. |
I will be in NJ next month. We must get together and roll. Then hit the night life. :)

BJJ is a great discipline and as a stand alone Martial Art I believe its the best. But now a days everybody has ground training and take down defense so the era of BJJ domination is over. Just my opinion.
It sure would be nice to see Rickson fight again though. |
amazing video
|
also thats all nice in a ring , in a real street or bar fight you dont want to get on the floor.
|
It seems like every webmaster is an ultimate fighter these days.
|
My brother has been doing Brazilian Jujitsu for about a year now. I think Royler Gracie is his sensei.
It's pretty cool, but it's definitely not very glamorous imo. |
very cool video!!

But if it does, I am better trained to win on the ground. Whether it's breaking something, choking his ass out, or just being able to get away. I have the training to do it. |
There's a funny bar story about Brazil's team that came to the US for the Pan Am games, and got into it with some Mexican's in a bar.
The club looked like it had one big brown rug so many mexians were choked out in that fight. You've never fought a BJJ guy in bar before, it doesn't hurt, you wake up wondering what the fuck happened, and why you have an empty bottle of vodka stuck up your ass. |
Cool Vid... I trian at Arizona Combat Sports

It was going to happen sooner or later. The Gracies brought the system to the general public. 10 years later, rest of the world's fighters catch up. What point are you trying to make? Btw, Rorion threw in the towel because Royce was fighting with a broken leg. |
Kasushi Sakuraba was also given the highest honor by the Gracies when Renzo Gracie named him Japan's Equivlalent of a Gracie.
Of course Sak beat what, 5 of them? |
what point?
no point but hey i'll take that russian from pride, the younger brother of fedor Alexsander ? he won't get taken to the ground and he'll knock the shit out of anyone scary |

Coconut Creek. You know, down the fucking street from you. |
Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Wrestling. Jiu-Jitsu for comfort and skill on the ground, Muay Thai for the ability to elbow, knee, kick, and punch someone's face in standing, and Wrestling in case your fighting someone who's JJ is better, you can avoid going to the ground and use your MT, or vice-versa.

I really enjoyed those Gracie vids... amazing how he can bring down the biggest fighter and make him tap out
|
Wow, let me guess... he's going to pretend to punch or kick, and then dive at my legs.
he does it in EVERY single fight... C'mon, it can't be too hard to jump over him, turn around, and boot him in the bum. |
