Any of you fans of the new BATTLESTAR GALACTICA series?

I fracking love it! My friend introduced me to it and it's really sci-fi genius at it's best. I didn't expect it to be this good, thankfully there's a second season in the works already.

If you're a sci-fi amateur or more, even if you only liked star wars, you owe it to yourself to get at least the Pilot on dvd.

watched a few previews, looks pretty good, but the old 80's one scares me away from watching an episode.

Spunky 04-19-2005 09:27 PM

Ranks right up there with American Idol :Oh crap

Dildozer 04-19-2005 09:38 PM

American idol????

hottoddy 04-19-2005 09:45 PM

Well, the season finale was a few weeks back and now they are in reruns. It took a bit of getting used to, but I really enjoyed the re-interpretation. They kept true to the core aspects, but also took it in many different directions.

It is definitely the best sci-fi show on TV today, and probably one of the best shows out there now - for any genre.

Viewfinder 04-19-2005 09:47 PM

Great show. Some hot fraking chicks on it, to boot. I'd even do the lady president. :thumbsup

Haha so would I.

Gotta love the scenes too, you can tell they put a lot of work into it. There are just scenes with the music that are absolutely breathtaking.

best since Star Trek: the next generation

Since DS9, Ronald D. Moore is a fracking genius

I've caught several episodes, well acted, good main story, some engaging subplots as well. Making one of the two lead pilots a female (and a tough one at that) was a good move.

I'll keep catching the odd episode for sure.

erehwon 04-19-2005 10:04 PM

Its some of the best Sci-fi I have seen in years, (very edgy for cable TV) and I find Lt. Thrace (Starbuck) on this new generation very fuckable too. :thumbsup

jigg 04-19-2005 10:06 PM

i like it a lot, and thought i wouldn't. my boyfriend doesn't really like it and his brother too, but probably because they're more fans of the previous series

bhutocracy 04-19-2005 10:06 PM

everything except the word "frack" is so fucking lame. I cringe everytime the stupid hahahahas have to say it.

BradM 04-19-2005 10:07 PM

Yes, I like it a lot as well. :)

effer 04-19-2005 10:17 PM

Watched the pilot mini-series that kicked it off, was hooked ever since.. it is really well crafted, I would compare it to my favorite, The Sopranos. I hear the 2nd season is filming and will start this summer, or end of summer? I noticed how SKY gets it first and N. America broadcast was way later. Thank god for bittorrent.

I am. I truly am enjoying the first season. It is gritty and high drama... like GFY.

Yes, they are dangerously close to overusing that word. I see it's been used in this thread a few times and I'm already tired of it. :warning

crockett 04-20-2005 08:40 AM

I wached it was pretty good.. I do get annoyed with them using the word "fracking" every 5 secs.. But it's a good series, I was also a fan of the orginal series when I was a kid.

tragedy 04-20-2005 08:50 AM

The show is dark and nasty....I love it. It's nice to see a sci-fi show where people have real world problems, like running out of water, running out of fuel, prison riots, and the like.

Dildozer 04-20-2005 08:54 AM

I agree frack's been used too much in the last episodes especially.

Still the beginning of Kobol's last gleeming part 1 is enough to make me forget all the fracks

Dildozer 04-20-2005 01:08 PM

bumpitty bump

Dildozer 04-20-2005 09:04 PM

this baby deserves one last bump, in the name of Starbuck's hot smile

Damian_Maxcash 04-20-2005 09:08 PM

I like it ... but I loved the 80's show as well.....

Im still not sure they did the right thing making the Cylons look human - the old ones scared the shit out of me when I was a kid

Pornwolf 04-20-2005 11:09 PM

Strange, I have seen about 6 episodes and I never noticed the fracking.

imafuckingaussie 04-20-2005 11:19 PM

Damn some positive comments for it, I thought it was shite (, I thought the effects were poor, poor sound effects and not enought space ships and fighting etc. I loved the original, lol

woodsix 04-20-2005 11:26 PM

I utterly despise STARBUCK. I mean HATE this character. It is such an overused Sci-Fi stereotype. Blonde, tough chick overcompensating for being a woman.

Tasha Yar
Kira Nareese
Samantha Carter

probably countless more examples..., BUT other than that, this is the best thing on TV!

:thumbsup

AdPatron 04-20-2005 11:27 PM

I like it.

CynthiaB 04-21-2005 12:42 AM

It is a very good show but I can't get past Starbuck being a girl...sigh...I miss Dirk Benedict. Original series girl here. If you watch it as an entirely different show from Battlestar the Original it works.

Cyn

Dildozer 04-21-2005 10:08 AM

I don't mind starbuck, i think the actress playing her is great

Manga1 04-21-2005 10:29 AM

Commander Adama dies next season! FRACK!

I love Battlestar Galactica. Best Sci Fi series in years. Can't wait till season 2. What do you think a half human half cylon baby will look like?
