Better Choice MPA3, NATS or Custom?

Im working on a VOD type site with a shopping cart and want to open it up to affiliates. Which program would work better for me? Or would I be better off writing my own custom scripts?

tical 04-19-2005 01:22 PM

I went the custom route because I wanted access to the source code. I've had problems with MPA3 when they would do updates across all of their accounts and overwrite custom scripts they wrote for me (several times). I'd find out because they were for things like xsells, etc and my paycheck would be smaller then I'd investigate and see something wasn't right.

They're a great company but nothin like custom as long as you got the skills or a dedicated group of programmers to keep it in line.

This is in no way speaking against the fine programs out there...but, if you have the money, the time, the patience and the programming team, go custom.

I consider NATS as a good, safe thing when I consider to promote various programs. I never sign up for ccbill. Custom things are OK as long as they are based on some kind of URL /yourlinkcode/ thingy, but I generally find those harder to trust than NATS-based for some strange reason....

custom if you can.

I'm in the same boat as you , you might wanna add partnersoft to your list, it's a one time fee and being used by companies such as oxcash and bangbros.

wow, Im surprised to see so many people say go the custom route. I was leaning that way myself for various reasons but I was hesitant due to the trust factors, I want to ensure the affiliates feel comfortable and secure.

Hit me up for a demo of the program - I think you will be pleased.

I have experience with both MPA3 and NATS...custom, forget about it....too much work and very difficult...you could have more problems than using a software already development and testing for a long time....

Both MPA3 and NATS have their advantages and disadvantages....AdultLounge.com currently uses MPA3 and we are very happy! There has been a LOT of customizations done by the MPA3 guys and they have made it into a very solid program....Nats is not bad either but i would rather go with MPA3!

The best thing to do is speak to clients of

I wish one of these companies had a more affordable solution for smaller sites, like $100 a month .

Yea but only 10 sales a day max.

XPays 04-23-2005 06:21 PM

if you do not have the resources to do your own then the best option is to just use the affiliate program built in to a third party processor and let them handle everything a la bustyamatuers back in the day.

Matt_WildCash 04-23-2005 06:23 PM

We use NATS and love it. Highly recommend it for an affilate program software. Since we moved to NATS we have not had to worry about it and can concentrate on other business instead of if the affialte software is stable or having issues. NATS has good support and has been running very nicely for us.

Custom is good only for the biggest programs who have a big enough programming team to handle upgrades and it can be a lot of work to program in extra processors & dialers etc

i've used both first hand and would recommend custom if you know a solid programmer (or team) and can afford it.
