win 2000 server crashing?
hi
both my machines, a desktop computer and a notebook with 2k server are crashing way too often and going into the blue screen of death with a 'PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGED AREA'.... i first thought it was hardware from the stationary, but since the laptop started crashing too, i am really clueless? did anybody running 2k server have the same issues by chance? suggestions highly appreciated, going nuts with this. thanks |
that error is usually caused by bad hardware, it's usually been the memory in my experience
|
true, but i have tried them all, swapping RAM, adding RAM, removing RAM, always happened, yet that can't happen on the laptop too, its a dell and i highly suspect that is defective, i was thinking about a problem in the very windows, even THO the desktop machine has been formatted l10 days ago and when i was done with the setup, crashed EXACTLY as before... it's really a pain in the ass, i even wanted to get new hardware, but its hard to figure out whats wrong really!
|
forgot to add this... i worked the whole last week without problems with the laptop, then one day i got that blue screen and after that 1st time, it used to happen more often... its really really strange... sounds also like a virus
|
what errors are showing up in the event log preceding the blue screen error?
|
well this happens quite often:
The Network Address Translator (NAT) was unable to request an operation of the kernel-mode translation module. This may indicate misconfiguration, insufficient resources, or an internal error. The data is the error code. but its irrelevant i think. the thing is that this shit happens totally RANDOM and without any regular pattern, very often happens when i am surfing and i click a link that can be a download thing or a link in a forum, whatever.... |
fuck that, just crashed now, im gonna format and install 2k PRO now... we'll see.. thanks for the suggestions anyway
