Help me NOT look like an Idiot.
Ok,
Real simple... gotta talk to a webmaster about his strategy to generate traffic. What are some of the terms used? The only one I know is TGP gallery but I have no idea what that actually is. (Before I get flamed... remember I'm a photographer) |
TGP is pronounced tiggup
|
TGP = Thumbnail Gallery Post
Text TGP links to TGP galleries with a text link (e.g. http://www.thehun.com/) Thumb TGP links to TGP galleries using a thumbnail pic. Most (if not all) thumb TGPs us skimming, that means a certain percentage of clicks on thumbnails go to other sites rather than the TGP gallery. example: http://www.8teenporn.com/ MGP = Movies instead of pictures Text MGP = http://www.video-post.com/main.html Thumb MGP = http://www.pandamovies.com/ |
A TGP gallery looks like this: http://www.cozyacademy.com/classrooms/tgp/04.asp

Thanks guys I really appreciate it.
Now another question. I understand you can purchase traffic. How does that work? |
TGP is not pronounced 'tiggup'.. it's pronounced 'teezheepee'
And 'gallery' could be pronounced 'gall (like ball) eeeri'. 'webmaster' = 'vepmastuuur'. Got it? And just don't pretend you know what you're talking about, it'll make you look really weak. Let the dude know you're a photographer and have no clue what you're on about with webmastering. That way, he won't use terms like 'gprlfx' which is pronounced 'groupcirclejerkcumonmyfaceplz'. |
fuckin die
