Why do dating sites ask for your first and last name??
 

Some say it's for internal use - when they send you an e-mail, but they could just refer to you by username... people hate filling out all those long forms, so i just don't see good reasoning behind it. anything i'm missing?

Not all dating sites ask for real names.. until we ask for the name on the credit card when it's time to buy. :)

Iwantu.com does not require first and last name untill the moment you get charged. It is only for billing purposes. Otherwise you can post a profile without a first/last name.

maybe they want to check you out and see if you're a freak! lol

the last name part might scare some people off thinking that information may be shown on their public profile, so definately not a good idea.
