When you took on your first employee...
... was it for grunt work that you didn't want to do, or skilled work that they did better than you?
Did it raise the productivity of your operation at least enough to cover their wage and then some? Just curious. :thumbsup |

We take them on to do things that we don't have time to do - I guess that makes it a productivity thing

He does the skilled grunt work that I don't have time to do.... a bit of both and much needed assistance!! :thumbsup

I had a friend that would do gallery submits for me really cheap. But then he stopped for some reason. Guess he was drinking too much to make some easy cash. I need to find some poor college student for $6/hour which I think I could do easily.

It was really more of a partnership, though I was the boss and owner.
There was really no job description, either, beyond "Succeed and get it done." This is someone I relied on to lend ALL his energy to our Little Ambition. This is someone so deserving of great things, I knew I could never let him down -- and so for having, in a sense, to answer to HIM, I was pushed to a higher level. Thanks, VPM j- |
skilled work.
