I have a suggestion: BUY A SCRIPT!!!

Why would anyone release a free script that enables others to make money by creating tons of TGPs without investing any money? That's just stupid.

Ehm, because there are lots of coders around whith free time who could contribute a little bit to realise the project?

Dumbass - OS software isn't about 1 person creating a script and releasing it for free use for everyone

xxxanax - it has been discussed here before, but it got flamed with posts like the one above. The guy who was willing to OS a script had a pretty good codebase already, by all accounts, but heard nothing more.

I'd sure contribute to such a project should it ever be released.

Pay to play in this game... the fast you pay, the quicker you play and the more you get laid.

You could say exactly the same about blogging software, shopping carts, message boards, content managers, etc., etc.

I don't think there is any open source TGP software, but that is happenstance and/or because the software is too simple to appeal to the geek community and/or because the market is relatively small. But there is a huge open source community developing thousands of projects, many for use in commercial environments.

There are all kinds of reasons why people work that way and they aren't all selfless: a lot make good money from residual sales and providing services related to the free software with which they are involved. I can also think of several programs from individuals which were initially free because that's an excellent way to establish a reputation.
