Need definitions and explanations of traffic generation terms. - photo give away!
 

Ok....

I'm getting involved in the creation of a reality site.
Not a problem... yet.

But the webmasters want to give away some of my footage to an adult video magazine here in france. Each month the magazine packages a DVD with free hardcore on it.

I have a problem with this.

Because.

1. I don't see how this is going to generate traffic to the site.

2. It's wasted advertising because people who read magazines are not necessarily on the internet. (France is not known for it's "over-use" of the net)

3. Of those readers that do have internet access many may not have highspeed. (Trust me.. I had to wait for over 2 months for my connection.)

Ultimately I see this being a benefit to help magazine sales. Better the relationship between the webmaster and the magazine. But I think it does little or nothing to help me.

Personally, I think there are better way to market internet porn using the Internet.

So what are some of the things that are done to generate traffic. Who can
it be purchased from? etc etc.

I'm not looking for the "reciepe" on how to do these things. I just want to be able to say "Did you try this?" and if need be... explain what it is.
