Digital Video Editing

Hey guys I bought a new Sony Digital video camera and it just came with the basic editing software, I need something that i can cut parts of the video and add digital effects intot he video, where can i get such software and whats good to use?

yup, if you want something that does the job importing DV (mpeg2) premiere or mediastudiopro, both expensive but they rock, quality is amazing, take a month off to learn them too.
