Question about javascript and internet explorer

When I use some simple javascript codes on my pages (such as bookmark link, or mouseover) I get an error when opening the page in IE because of my current IE settings. the error says somehting like: 'to help protect security IE has restricted this file from showing activex controls.. click here for options'

the strange thing is I copied the code exactly from another website and when I open this website I don't get an error.

how can this be explained? and are my IE settings just too stricts then the average, or will my average IE surfer will get the same?

please refrain from all anti IE comments and suggestions to move to firefox, since this isn't about me, it's about my surfers that will or will not get these errors...

You might have to change the privacy settings in the internet options section.

local setting are different than remote setting. If you try it from a different network
you may see it works without the warnings.
