There is a 60 or 80GB one with 7200 rpm. If that size is enough for you, get that because it's faster

Meh... It only has 5400rpm.

See if you can opt for a 7200rpm HD, you'll notice the difference for sure.

Its a good HDD.. they commented that its gonna be slower than a 7200rpm, true, but the hdd ur dell came with is probably a 5400, also with a 7200rpm ur gonna notice less battery life and more heat..

Hitachi makes GREAT laptop harddrives (I find them quieter and less hot than the other harddrives).

Except, I think the highest capacity goes up to 60GB for a 7,200rpm.

If you want more storage, then you'll have to opt for a lower spindle speed.

The other alternative would be to use an external harddrive.

I prefer a 7200 rpm hdd in my notebook (60 Gb installed by the manufacturer in a Dell Inspiron 8600). Fast enough for video editing. My external hdd are 7200 rpm too. I wouldn't buy a slower drive in any computer nowadays. What's the point- to save a few bucks?
