Long Horn banner blocking in IE
 

I recently previewed longhorn 2006 and attempted to access my one of my galleries, and found out that IE in longhorn BLOCKS banners. viewing the source reveals the code for the banner, but IE skips it.

Does anyone realise what effect this will have on the industry on a multi-platform level?

Any top page image banner is blocked in Windows Longhorn OS, However text banners appear to be ok.

When your banners stop showing up i'll bump this thread..

I am glad I don't rely on normal banners no more on my new projects

If it works the same way as other bannerblockers just avoid links with affiliate codes in them and use a redirect instead.

How does it block them?
Huge database of links to adult sites or something?
Banner sizes?

What a joke though. Who is Microsoft to start blocking other peoples site revenue? I know they *can do it but really I doubt it will be default to block all advertising banners. Lots of the big companies (i.e. yahoo) use the same banners all over the place and I highly doubt they'd like it either.

i need more info on longhorn's IE and good links to direct me to?
