Due to some moron japanese webmaster pushing warez files in .gif format, the servers have been slow. I have finally nailed this guy, and his game is over.

He used a proxy to sign up for his accounts, however, too bad for him the proxy logs ip's connected, and i have those ip's now...

If any other webmaster who runs a freehost notices this guy, signing up for weirdly named accounts like (hlswlwk) and with .gif files that are 400k / 500k in size, please e-mail me, i'll give you his ip's, and you can take whatever legal action you want or call the cops.

rollin, these guys are the major pain of adult hosts and they're a lot! They upload whole movies and software in small .gif or .jpg pieces and then they post the links to their japanese boards. Every surfer there has the program that downloads the .gif and .jpg files and re-constructs the file. They are zillions such surfers!

if you ask me its your fault..
if you set no acceptable sizelimit you should not wonder about that kind of problems.

trax,even if the size limit is 40kb, they'll do the same and the result will be the same.

We are going to limit .gif and .jpeg size to a lower amount, and for movies we will allow 500kb.

Is there any way you guys can make it tougher to get accounts. I know you want all the "real" webmasters you can get but is there a way to weed out these assholes before they get in and cause the trouble..??

These guys are probably what kills most freehosts. Profit margins are already thin and if you don't find out what's going on, they will burn as much bandwidth as the server can handle.

And Soul_Rebel is right, if your size limit is 80k, they will upload 78-79k files, but with different size for each files. They're very clever..

Even some of them uploads valid GIF files, and appends their warez data after it, making impossible the automatic detection of invalid GIF/JPEG by an image validator.

Anyway it might look easy to run a freehost but it's not.

I just stay on top of things, or get someone who works for me to.

We look over accounts every 12 hours, only new ones, i have rooted out any previous account these japanese guys had.

It's really sick that these guys are so childish they need to leech off some freehosts to serve warez. Pretty lame if you ask me.

I am used to be a warez webmaster yet I turn to an adult webmaster. I know there are alot of freaks out there looking for free hosts. I once tried alot of ways too but not now. If you need any help of catching some warez guys, I can give you a hand. I know abit of those guys too.
