How much are generic .com domains worth?
 

Every so often there's various generic .com domains for sale on auction sites, but are they worth anything just because they're in the dictionary?

Example: The domain "unspeakable.com" over at pool.com

They're worth as much as someone is willing to pay for them

True... and you'll see people willing to pay more for those words that are commonly used and will get typed into surfers' web browsers and/or have a viable commercial use. :winkwink:

A word like a "Aggrievance" isn't going to get many type-ins. Nor does it have much commercial value. A word like "Lamps" has both.

unspeakable.com could be the name of a future big movie, when i own it i would hold it.
