The Repubs don't really claim to "care about our soldiers" they claim to be "strong on national defense"
Which means they want to spend more money on defense (pork barrel projects for their home districts) Not that they care about the troops. |

Yeah I was watching the Senate today on C-Span. They had another proposed admendment but I did not catch if it was approved or not.
That was to increase the pay of National Guardsmen and Reservists that have been called to active duty to levels that that would be commiserate with their civilian pay that they had been receiving. Apparently some 1,000...or so employers...are in fact making up the difference between their civilian pay and their military pay...if there is a deficit in pay. Anyone happen to catch the outcome of this proposed admendment? |
It would be fucking stupid to pay National Guardsmen more then active duty.
Clue: They are volunteers ! |
