Damn Comcast

Looks like more DNS issues.

2 of my PC's with their dynamic DNS are acting goofy
This one wih their static DNS entries is fine.

Time to change the other two......
arghhh

AaronM 04-13-2005 06:02 PM

Mine is fucked again right now too. 3rd time this week.

I can only access sites that I already had open in browsers. :(

I've tried calling them twice and after several minutes of hold time, the calls get dropped.

iwantchixx 04-13-2005 06:03 PM

Nope. Didn't help.

Thanks anyway.

Lester 04-13-2005 07:29 PM

mine works fine with this DNS
4.2.2.1
4.2.2.2

SiMpLe 04-13-2005 07:36 PM

I'm having the same issues - Friggn frustrating

pxxx 04-13-2005 07:38 PM

Been happening to me all week. I am starting to get really annoyed.

AdultInsider Cloner 04-13-2005 07:40 PM

I hate comcast too, but it's my only choice right now :(

BLAM - That worked thanks :thumbsup

sumphatpimp 04-13-2005 09:00 PM

Comcast keeps jacking up the price, but the service just gets worse and worse. I think it may be time to cut them lose and go dsl.

Veterans Day 04-13-2005 09:02 PM

i see a definate downturn in traffic when this happens, I think people just give up and wait till tommorrow. Changing dns from auto to 4.2.2.1-4.2.2.2 in tcp/ip properties works like a charm :thumbsup

Brad Mitchell 04-13-2005 09:45 PM

They've been bad all week. I'm surprised we haven't had an clients calling thinking that their server is down because the DNS issues are so flakey with Comcast.

Qwest is the Devil itself. Fuck them.

Comcast has flaws and I'm pretty pissed at them right now as they could not have gone down at a worse time and I allowed my frustrations with them to compound another issue today. Not cool. :(

So.....I just got off the phone with Comcast and these fuckers were "gracious" enough to offer me 3 days worth of pro-rated credit for the outages.

Not good enough fuckers.......I will call back tomorrow and work my way up the chain of command until I have a minimum of 1 month credited.

cfU 04-14-2005 12:24 AM

I heard somewhere else the other day CC had downtime, and you can call them up
and get recipricated for the downtime.

TheSaint 04-14-2005 05:48 AM

I got a linux server on the bookshelf, so I use that for dns, and don't use comcast mail. That way you are only dependent on them for the minimum networking. Been up for 4 years with no downtime.

Even if you don't have Linux, you can easily drop a dns server on a windows box and bypass comcast's fu dns.

AdultWebGraphics 04-14-2005 05:52 AM

Been down all damn night here, and yesterday night for a while also.

renew your DHCP lease, i think they're using local DNS servers now

aico 04-14-2005 06:03 AM

That's really fucking weird, cuz we have Verizon DSL here and it's been acting weird all week too, they said they were "Doing some testing". Fucked up my router, had to upgrade it and reset it, and the past two days connection has been on and off all day long...

Just a coinkydink? or is there something more sinister going on?

dirtysouth 04-14-2005 06:04 AM

Weird I'm way down here in the south and thought it was just this area. Been having the same problems all week long.

Luc 04-14-2005 06:05 AM

wow, i thought my computer was fucked up but i guess its happening all
over the place.

same problems here. everything works fine now (so far), but been FUCKED
up all week long.

time to call these cocksuckers up and demand some account credit for this
bullshit.

AdultWebGraphics 04-14-2005 06:13 AM

Yeah, it sucks when you depend so heavily on something in order to get your work done and it craps on you. I'm way behind now. :Oh crap

fl_prn_str 04-14-2005 06:19 AM

concast sucks....

TurboAngel 04-14-2005 06:20 AM

I wish we had comcast down here, we have this bullshit roadrunner down here.

I had been having problems too. Last Thursday, then this past Tuesday and now last night too. I called Wednesday morning (before I knew it would be down again that evening) and asked for two days credit. The woman at first didn't want to give me anything, she said I need to call when it is happening. I almost lost it laughing, because I did call and like others have said, you can't get through, it just drops the call. Then she only wanted to give me one day credit, because the other was "so far back" (5 days??) that she really didn't have a way to know if was down or not. Uh, hello, it was posted on many news websites and tech sites that Comcast had national outages last week but she couldn't remember that far back. Anyway, after a little more bitching, I got credit for two days service. I wonder how much that will be, like $3? But think if every subscriber got a $3 credit. They boast they have 8 million subscribers, so that would be a $24 million refund. I'd love to see that happen.

So, anyone wanna guess if it will be down again tonight?

From the first day we moved down here we have had probs with them. Where are you if I can ask? We're in NC.

:(

Raven 04-14-2005 06:32 AM

Well, now I know it's not my computer. I thought it was fixed. Go get 'em, Aaron. I fought the fight with Qwest and I can't go back to them. EVER.

hydro 04-14-2005 07:31 AM

is anyone having problems accessing websites through comcast? I can't browse any sites unless im using a proxy?

MandyBlake 04-14-2005 07:33 AM
