Kristin is working on two master degrees right now, she should be done within a year. E Marketing and Marketing, followed by her PHD in Retail Marketing. Before 25 years old, not bad.

Eh, you were close ... I'm working on a double MBA right now, E-Business and Marketing, I will be done July of 2006!! Then, I will apply for PhD programs, I'm looking at Retail and Consumer Sciences (what I got my undergrad in) with a minor in Psych. (They require a minor with the doctoral program...)

I'll have my MBA's before I'm 25, not my PhD ... I could only wish.

Rich 04-13-2005 02:53 PM

"Almighty Colin" is a Yale grad.

What does the amount of schooling you have to do with someone's intelligence or smarts?

Did you just prove that amount of schooling is irrelevant (when it comes to intelligence/smarts) by posting this thread? :)

Donny 04-13-2005 03:21 PM

Gary Kremen occasionally posts here. He has an MBA from Stanford. Pretty sure he wins. Plus he's a multi-millionaire.

I think they're both very valuable to know. Ignoring one for the sake of the other is the unintelligent thing to do.

CFA is impressive.

I also grad with a double major Econ/Fina and a minor in Comp Sci. I would say I probably rank in the top of the intelligence food chain here.

lol

i've never seen a thug with street knowledge building a spaceship, aiplane or
even a simple house :)

chaze 04-13-2005 04:39 PM

lol there is funny shit here.

I do agree that you need both..... but I think street smarts without book smarts will get you homeless or hooked on scams, maybe jail, book smarts without street smarts will get you a nice job, familly, ect..

You get the point.

If I had to choose one or the other, I think booksmarts is little more important for stable life. :2 cents:

Would you rather your Peru travel adviser had read National Geographic or been to the Peru?

Your above statements are simply untrue.

xNetworx 04-13-2005 04:54 PM

Economics BA From ISU, Series 7, 6, 63, life and health insurance license, but all that means jack shit... I grew up in the city of Chicago.. thats where i learned how to hustle :thumbsup

Cory W 04-13-2005 04:55 PM

First and foremost, you asked for the smartest person, but seemed to qualify that question with "most schooled."

That is invalid. They are not one in the same. You may argue that they are related, but they are not the same.

Of course, I am just debating in a friendly manner :)

Cory W 04-13-2005 04:59 PM

When Fletch says "street smarts," I will safely assume he is talking of life experience.

Repetitive Monkey 04-13-2005 04:59 PM

The stature of my formal education is inversely proportional to the size of my thundering manlimb. I have faith in my ability to learn and understand the world around me on my own, and I make enough money to own whatever useless stuff I may desire without owing anybody anything, so I am happy with the decisions I have made.

It is a debate and I'm glad you can approach it that way, it's how I approach it to.

I think the term smart and each persons definition is probably different.

After all, aren't psychics really the one using the most of there brain

It's "their" brain. the fact that I can catch it and you made the mistake doesn't make me smarter than you.

Someone may be better at doing paper work for a business than I am but doesn't mean they're smarter. Perhaps I can do the actual business work better than they can and just not the paper work.

Anyway.... the fact of the matter is, some people measure by experience, some measure by book smarts, some measure by common sense and some just measure by how much of a retard others are around them.

I'd rather not try to figure out who's smartest, I'd rather find those who excel in their perspective area and put them all together and really kick ass.
