I have a 6 year old son. There is a website where you can check how many sex offenders are in your area. Take a look and be aware of what's around you. I don't know if this has been posted in the past. You just need to type in your zip code. I was amazed how many are in my area. Makes you think.

Oh that's one of many databases! Very useful and alarming to say the least.

I've worked for YEARS fighting child abuse and have friends and family who work in the field big time professionally. You would SCREAM if you read some of these case files and what people do to their kids and what they actually let others do to their kids.

It is incredible how stupid and cruel some parents, older kids and strangers can be.

Friend of mine, a forensic psychologist working for NY State had me stop by her office one day. She was literally overwhelmed with cases to the point she couldn't take it anymore. I was talking with her then met some of the families and literally went berserk. Took 4 cops and 3 civilians to keep me from rolling across town to kick this one kid's father's ass. Did over $2,500 worth of damage to the office tryin' to get to that fuck.

Word to the wise. NEVER let your kids out of your site. You can't trust ANYONE with your kids not even your spouse! There are many, many levels as to why people abuse kids as well as one another. Sometimes it's just a 'loose noodle' or something as sinister as a long well planned assault.

If you had to go out and kick all the child abuser asses in the U.S. you would wear out both knee caps before you put a dent in the numbers.

NEVER trust your kids with ANYONE.

I don't think that list is very accurate. I live in the heart of Hollywood and there is only a handful listed in my area. A police officer told me that there is 75 registered sex offendors in my neighborhood.

wow, and I just noticed, almost all those I posted are child molestors....scary

I have never listened to what the people were charged with. Treat people like you want them to treat you. and keep an eye on your child. The person that touches your child may not be in one of those lists.

Geez, I live in a very small, upscale OC neighborhood and there are six in my area. One is a woman - that one really surprised me.

Makes me want to double check the names of all my son's friend's parents.
