Can someone explain this? (adwords)

So i create a campaign with a budget of 130 bucks a day.
The estimate was about 2200 clicks a day, depending on your ad ofcourse.

So now over 24 hours since my campaign went live i got 18 clicks and 1000 pageviews.

Wtf?

How can they even come up with a number like 2200 hits if they cant even give me that much pageviews in 24 hours?

be patient... takes some time :thumbsup

Adwords BLOWS! Google doesn;t have anywhere near as much traffic as they say, or as you would imagine.

I look at some KWs that are heavily searched with daily budget of a good amount and they get no clicks.

I don't understand Adwords.
I love Yahoo:)

Unless your keywords are totally obscure, they will begin ramping up traffic over the next few days.

hey butt-man your friend here :-)

the stats you get are wrong, completely wrong.
If you where using add words long enough you would know that...

or maybe you should do a google search before asking such a stupid question ;-)

Whose estimate?

Exactly.

If they exaggerate projected clicks, two things happen: you budget more money and/or you drop your per-click bid to keep within a daily budget.

Let's assume a small (naive and inexperienced) advertiser does both these things. The first thing he notices is the tiny number of clicks (under-projected page views notwithstanding). So what's he gonna do but up his bid, never thinking that a CTR of 1.8% probably has more to do with his creatives and relevancy than with position. But Google doesn't give a shit about CTR -- unless you drop so low that you stop providing them with revenue, and displace somebody else's revenue-generating ad.

I have seen this phenomenon hundreds of times. Adwords inflates traffic projections because it makes advertisers throw MORE money at high-CTR/high-pageview terms, which distracts them from optimizing for ROI.

Oh i understand that 2200 is a very rough estimate but the difference between 18 clicks and 2200 is quite big you know haha...like a little bit too much off. Anyway, i'll wait and see.
