Tech Alert: New dual-core Pentiums coming soon!
 

Intel recently announced the imminent release of their new dual-core Pentiums in their next Extreme Edition P4 line.

Dell (I like Dell) also announced shipping the Pentium Extreme Edition 840 soon in their Gen 5 XPS desktop (and also server pcs too).

Should be interesting, especially for those looking for their next high end workstation, for those like me doing DV editing (and soon HDV editing) & video encoding and those who want to multi-task with simultaneous heavy computer use.

Dell, the only manufacturer to make any offical announcement so far mentioned in one other article I read online today that the system would start at around $3,000. In other words probably more like $4,000+ depending on the configuration. You gotta pay extra to be an early adopter, he he.

Always someone with a smart-ass comment, but no relevant info. You still can't even buy one just yet, but it's newsworthy and timely, now that there have been some reviews and now that there is an imminent expected release date from at least one manufacturer. :321GFY
