Better place to move to: philippines area or brazil area
 

I am going to move to one of these in the next year.

Money goes further in philippines and th climate is better.

Brazil is closer to the us and has more internet access.

I am trying to put together other pros and cons as well.

Go to the philippenes and make us some galleries :)

It seems expnsive if it is, condos for $200,000 I was looking at mansions for that much.

I think I like Cabu, I checking it out further. Maybe a resort near the beach there with live cams.

Cebu is nice. More laid back than Manila. Try to find a place close to the water or, if you wish, rent a place up in the Beverly Hills (I'm not joking.. its the same name as in CA) section of Cebu. $500 to $800/month and you've got a nice hilltop view and the exotic ambience of the Taoist temple.

if you want a more laid back life style, then choose some of the provinces in the Philippines. Your choice of Cebu, Boracay, Batangas and many more but if you want to live in the city and would love the night life, then check out Makati.

I am checking this place out now :) I might try the city first and if it's too much move out to cebu.

The whole place looks very cool to me, it's hard to decide.

That's my thoughts as of now.

Rio de janeiro is not that cheap. Electronics are twice what they are in the states. The housing and food are cheap. The high end houses are 200k and that is a penthouse. I have never seen what I would call a mansion, and I would want the security of a building. If you go to the newer section SE along the shore. It has a very american look and feel. Inernet is very good in the city.

more exp in PI in different places, brazil experience limited to rio area a few times.

it all depends on what you want.

rio is an exciting and dangerous city, beautiful women to be sure, and the most overtly sexual girls i have experienced. before you die you must visit the termas.

PI is poorer place, more primitive, but somewhat safer if you are male. internet connectivity in both places is doable.

yes, it is very cheap to be in PI, but most of PI is a toilet.

brazil has more biz opportunities, and you can be in the porn biz there if the grease the right palms.

the girls are definitely sweeter (personality-wise) in PI.

I spent about 2 years in the Philippines, mainly Cebu

Cebu is a very nice city, the beaches are at Mactan Island, right next to Cebu (search for Lapu Lapu)



Brazil
Rio is quite dangerous, though with some street smarts it can be navigated reasonably

Police is a disturbance. Did you read about the arrest of the Porn movie crew? and the arrest of the guys with the sex webcam girls? Of course, in the Philippines this also leads to arrest, but in the Philippines all porn is illegal while in Brazil they harrass you even without clear legal problems.

Consider other cities in Brazil. Fortaleza. Natal. Curitiba is a good city but no beach and colder climate. Maybe Florianopolis. Much safer, much cheaper then Rio.

Fortaleza would probably be first choce. Natal second, if you want a laid back provincial smaller city

If you want to do it in Brazil, you better get legal counsel, it is possible but very tricky. I know a guy who got busted for his webcam business. The court totally absolved him, so he actually has a court license to run this business but he is kind of tired of it. What's the main reason why you want to move? Just for the fun of it? I too would love to live abroad. And now that I'm starting to actually money in this biz I think I could do it possibly next year.
